COLLINGWOOD will be sweating on the fitness of key defender Ben Reid after he sat out the final quarter of the VFL Magpies' clash against Box Hill on Saturday with calf tightness.
Reid, who has not played senior football since round 21, 2014, has battled a string of soft-tissue injuries in the past 18 months.
He was playing in his fifth consecutive VFL match and the Magpies were hoping he would be fit to take his place in Friday night's clash against Hawthorn.
The Magpies said Reid had suffered cramp late in the third quarter and did not want to take a risk given his history of injuries.
He was enjoying an outstanding game with 24 disposals and 13 marks in the first three quarters.
Collingwood's medical staff will assess Reid on Monday.
Pacy defender Ben Sinclair got through the match unscathed in his return from a long-term hamstring issue.
Young forward Darcy Moore could be in line to make his senior debut against the Hawks after kicking three goals in an impressive display at Victoria Park on Saturday.
Moore, pick No.9 in last year's NAB AFL Draft, has worked his way back from a hamstring niggle suffered in April earlier this season.
