THE AFL is pleased to announce Western Australian artists, The Southern River Band, will perform as part of the 2021 Charles Brownlow Medal Count on Sunday September 19.
Known by many as SRB, the rock’n’roll band from Thornlie have spent the last two years touring Australia and have quickly become one of the best live acts in the country.
The Southern River Band has played with one of Australia's greatest ever bands Cold Chisel to over 16,000 fans and has performed shows with fellow West Australian artists Birds of Tokyo as well as Jebediah, Gyroscope, Wolfmother and Grinspoon.
AFL Executive General Manager Customer and Commercial Kylie Rogers said it was great to have local Western Australian talent perform at of one of the game’s most prestigious events.
“We’re thrilled to have one of Western Australia’s much-loved bands, The Southern River Band, perform as part of the 2021 Charles Brownlow Medal Count and celebrate the 2021 Toyota AFL Season.”
The Southern River Band performance will be broadcast on Channel Seven.
