Former Bulldogs skipper signs a new one-year deal to play on in 2015
VETERAN Matthew Boyd will play on in 2015, after signing a new one-year deal with the Western Bulldogs.
The 32-year-old has shown few signs of slowing down this year, playing 19 games.
The former skipper has averaged 26 disposals per game and continues to impart his experience among the young midfield group at the Bulldogs which boasts the likes of Tom Liberatore and Jack Macrae.
"Matthew is a highly-respected member of this football club, and we believe he still has a lot to offer," list manager Jason McCartney said.
"Anyone that knows Matthew, understands just how professional he is, which we see as an important attribute, particularly for our young group to learn from."
"His teammates and coaches value his contribution, especially in recent times where he has shouldered a lot of responsibility - and we looking forward to seeing him continue his strong form next season."
Boyd joins fellow veteran Bob Murphy in signing a contract extension for next season, while the future of free agent Shaun Higgins remains uncertain with the 26-year-old linked to a move to North Melbourne.
