AUSTRALIAN captain Brent Harvey says he feels no extra pressure as skipper to get his side over the line in Friday's deciding match of the Toyota International Rules Series against Ireland.

"I guess it's pretty hard to address the boys in my team because they're all fantastic players and great people. I've been pretty brief; Mick (Malthouse) will do most of the work," he said.

"They're all leaders in their own way and anyone could go out and lead this team."

Harvey said his team would not have to look too hard to find motivation for the game.

"I just remind the boys how proud we are to represent our country.

"You look down at your jumper and you've got the coat of arms on it – just enjoy it because you might not get the opportunity to do it again."

Harvey re-emphasised the Australian theme that they were not coming off a loss, but rather a half-time deficit.

"At the end of the day we're only one point down half-way through the series. You go into any of our games one point down at half-time you are feeling pretty confident you can get up and win," he said.

"They've got a very small advantage over us being one point up."

Harvey backed his North Melbourne teammate Michael Firrito to hold down the goalkeeping position vacated by Nathan Bock.

The Aussie skipper said it was a question of the defenders supporting Firrito.

"He's had some good practice. He and Nathan had the opportunity last week. Spud (Firrito) sat at half-back and did a good job," he said.

"This week he's in the goals and has been telling us he wants us to come back and help him out a bit. I think we'll give him more support than we did (with Bock) last week."

Harvey said the Australians would continue to take penalties with hand to foot kicks rather than off the ground and that the side would concentrate on scoring more overs (three-points) than six-point goals.

"We obviously didn't get any six-pointers and they got three. We'll keep putting it over and hopefully that's enough to win the game."
