COLLINGWOOD star Dane Swan has watched on at Pies training on Thursday morning, in a moon boot and on crutches.
Swan broke three bones in his right foot in the opening round against the Sydney Swans. The injury was compared to a car crash victim's by a leading sports medico.
The Brownlow medallist is in doubt to return this year and his career is still under a cloud.
Swan left a message to his fans on Collingwood's website.
"I can't thank you all enough for all the support you've given me," he said.
"Especially all the Collingwood fans who have supported me from day one.
"I've even had a lot of messages from people who hate the footy club, but they really want to see me back out there.
"Thanks for all your support and I'll try to get back out there quickly."
The 32-year-old is out of contract and has not yet decided if he will play on next season.
