TAKE it as official: West Coast star Andrew Gaff is the AFL's running machine and Richmond's Oleg Markov is its speed king.
In data released on Thursday, the AFL Live Official App's Telstra Tracker showed Gaff had clocked the most metres of any player in a single game this season.
The Eagles midfielder, who will be crucial in his side's semi-final clash with Geelong on Friday night, ran 17.6km against Adelaide in round 10.
Andrew Gaff ran the furthest distance in a game this season.
Interestingly, it was Port Adelaide young gun Xavier Duursma who was second overall, having clocked up 17.4km against Carlton in round two, in what was only his second game at AFL level.
While Gaff has recorded the most in a single game, it is Ben Brown who leads the way across the competition for the highest average distance covered.
The Telstra Tracker shows the North Melbourne goalkicker has an average of 15.6km per match, with the average across the League at 12.8km.
Kangaroos forward Ben Brown is an endurance beast.
NAB AFL Rising Star Sam Walsh entered the game with big wraps on his endurance and aerobic capacity and lived up to that hype, running an average of 15.2km per match across his brilliant debut season.
He finished fourth in the AFL for average distance covered.
Markov has only played two games for the Tigers this season but has left an impression as the fastest player in the AFL.
The quick half-back hit the highest speed recorded by a player this season when he ran 37.4km/h against Collingwood in round two.
In terms of club records, Sydney covered the most distance of any team in a game when it ran 306.3km against Melbourne in round four.
Collingwood was the most streamed team of any in the competition, with supporters registering 57.4 million minutes of watching Magpies games in the AFL Live Official App and Telstra Live Pass.
