O'Keefe, a two-time premiership winner in 2005 and 2012 and the 2012 Norm Smith Medallist, remains contracted to the Swans.
The 33-year-old hasn't played since round four.
A Crows spokesman told AFL.com.au the club had contacted him, but insisted O'Keefe was just one of a number of people on its radar.
"Yes, we can confirm we have met with him," the spokesman said.
"We have long said we need to bolster our football department, and we are meeting with many people across the AFL."
The meeting came just a day after incoming CEO Andrew Fagan said he wanted Adelaide to have the best football department in the League.
He said it was essential to have "the right people in the right seats" and claimed "from that success will come".
O'Keefe is yet to decide if he will attempt to play on with another club, but the super-fit midfielder still clearly feels he could contribute at senior level.
"I think so. The fire is in the belly and I love playing," he said in August.
"But what will happen will happen. I'm not too concerned about that.
"I just want to thank everyone after being here at the Swans for such a long time and how it has shaped me and moulded me."
