WEST COAST coach Adam Simpson says his ill daughter has "turned the corner" after he rushed home missing the Eagles' win over the Western Bulldogs.
Assistant Jaymie Graham oversaw the Eagles' win at Etihad Stadium on Sunday as Simpson returned to Perth where daughter Elsa was admitted to hospital on Saturday night.
"A sincere thank you to everyone for your messages of support over the past 24 hours," Simpson said in a statement on Monday.
"Elsa has turned the corner and in good spirits and for that we are extremely grateful.
"As we all know footy is a big part of our lives but family comes first and I thank the club for its support during this time.
"I am extremely proud of how the players, coaches and staff handled themselves yesterday."
Simpson is expected to return to the coach's box for the Eagles' round three clash with Geelong on Sunday.
