RICHMOND midfielder Jack Graham has been officially ruled out of Saturday's Grand Final, failing to overcome a shoulder injury.

The 20-year-old dislocated his right shoulder against Geelong in the preliminary final, but played out the game under duress.

The club's medical team made the decision to rule Graham out of the decider after training on Tuesday morning.

"We’re so proud of Jack for playing on after he was injured on Friday night, he is the ultimate team man," Richmond general manager of football Neil Balme said.

"He has tried his hardest to be available to play this Saturday, and we commend him for that, but there’s a high probability that he will re-injure himself in Saturday’s game, which has influenced our decision.

"While he may not be out there on Saturday, his contribution to the team this season has been invaluable."

First-year midfielder Jack Ross looms as a likely replacement, withdrawn from the Tigers' VFL Grand Final on Sunday on a precautionary basis.

If picked, it will be Ross' eighth ever AFL match. He last played in the seniors in round 22 against West Coast.

Mid-season recruit Marlion Pickett is also an outside chance, having been named best-on-ground in the VFL premiership win.

An injury cloud still hangs over defender Nathan Broad, who was concussed against the Cats on Friday night, but trained on Tuesday.
