PORT Adelaide star Chad Wingard is in doubt for Saturday's crunch clash against Richmond after suffering a delayed concussion from Saturday night's loss to Geelong.
Wingard copped a heavy hit during the third term and was assessed at three-quarter time before playing out the rest of the game.
Further tests taken after the game confirmed the dual All Australian had experienced a delayed concussion.
Match preview: Richmond v Port Adelaide
"Chad was checked at three-quarter time and showed no signs of concussion," Power's head of high performance Darren Burgess told the club's website.
"We checked him again after the match as a precaution and he was showing signs of a delayed concussion.
"His safety is obviously our priority. We'll review him again this week and if he hasn't improved we'll keep him out of round six."
Wingard started the season on fire with three goals in his opening match, but has since struggled to reach top form.
He missed the round three win over the Bombers with hamstring tightness and was held to just seven touches against the Cats.
Port could also be without Jackson Trengove for the Tigers clash after he was offered a one-match ban for striking Joel Selwood.
