GREATER Western Sydney are again likely to be without star midfielder Josh Kelly and ruckman Rory Lobb for Saturday's clash with St Kilda at Etihad Stadium.
Both players missed last week's win over Fremantle, and while Kelly (groin soreness) sat out Wednesday's main training run, Lobb (knee) initially hit the track with the rest of the squad, but failed to complete the session.
The West Australian, who was ruled out of round four with bone bruising in his left knee, had the leg strapped, but did manage to complete some ruck work in around 20 minutes of training.
GWS coach Leon Cameron said both players remained a chance to play the Saints, but the match committee would need to weigh up the risk of playing the pair.
"Josh is going OK, (but) we'd like him to be going a little bit better," he said.
"He's been doing some running, but the footy side of it is what I'm alluding to.
"He had a fair bit of this last year and managed it, but some weeks can be not as great as others.
"We're not concerned in terms of (having to) rest him for six or eight weeks, but we're making sure that when he does participate in full-on footy again, he can cope for the week after and the week after that."
Lobb also managed to get some work in on Monday, but Cameron said the Giants were likely to be equally conservative with the big man, especially given Dawson Simpson stepped in and was solid last week against Fremantle veteran Aaron Sandilands.
"You never get back to 100 per cent during the season because you've always got that bash and crash on the weekend, but he's not far off it," Cameron said.
"We are dealing with some bone bruising and it can rear its head a bit, and with Dawson in pretty good form, we might wait an extra day or two (before making a call) on Rory."
Star forward Jeremy Cameron and utility Sam Reid were also on light duties on Wednesday, but Cameron said they would definitely play.
Young forward Zac Langdon could be available after making a quicker-than-expected recovery from a broken hand.
