MELBOURNEfc Chairman, Paul Gardner, today announced that Peter Spargo will join the MELBOURNEfc Board.
Spargo, a lifelong Melbourne supporter and Managing Director of a group of family companies employing 150 people in various retail businesses, will take up a casual vacancy on the Board. Spargo currently works in the oil industry, and is involved in the development, building and operation of freeway service centres. Married to Kate, the couple has four sons, who are all mad keen Melbourne supporters as well.
Peter said, “I’m delighted to be joining Paul and the Board of the Melbourne Football Club, and am looking forward to making a huge contribution to this great Club. It is an exciting time to be joining Melbourne in such a big year for the Club, with its 150th year celebrations.”
Peter Dohrmann has resigned from the Board due to work and family commitments. Peter joined the Board at the end of 2001, and has made a valuable contribution throughout many years of service.
Chairman Paul Gardner said, “After six years on the Melbourne Board, Peter has decided it’s time to leave, but will remain as a valuable member and contributor to the Melbourne Football Club.
“Peter came to the Club at a difficult time, and has been a great contributor to the Club, especially in the membership division. We thank him wholeheartedly and wish him all the very best, and welcome Peter Spargo to the Board."
