ADELAIDE speedster Wayne Milera will miss the Crows' first game of the JLT Community Series against Fremantle at Strathalbyn Oval on Sunday with knee tendinitis.
The Crows expect the 20-year-old to be available for their second and final pre-season game against Port Adelaide at Alberton Oval on March 10.
Milera also had some knee soreness this time last year.
He is expected to establish himself in the Crows' best 22 with his outside run and ability to apply pressure on opposition defenders in a small forward role.
Milera has also done some training during the pre-season with the defenders, and could be used across half-back to fill the position left vacant by the injured Brodie Smith.
The Central Districts product played 16 games last season after being hampered by a calf injury early in the year.
He was then unable to hold his spot in the side for the Crows' finals campaign.
Milera has played 24 games for the Crows since being taken with the 11th overall pick of the 2015 NAB AFL Draft.
He won the Crows' Emerging Talent Award for the best player under 21, and re-signed with the club until the end of 2020.
Milera joins Jordan Gallucci, Riley Knight, Hugh Greenwood, Brad Crouch, incumbent skipper Taylor Walker and Smith as being unavailable for the clash with the Dockers.
