RORY Sloane will undergo a scan on the adductor issue that saw him subbed out of Saturday's loss to Collingwood but is confident he'll be fit to play in Friday's Showdown against Port Adelaide.
The 32-year-old Crows skipper was replaced in the fourth quarter in Saturday's 42-point loss with the club stating he was "experiencing soreness" in his adductor after the game.
"We'll see how this pulls up over the coming days. I'm feeling reasonably confident," Sloane said, despite the six-day turnaround between games.
"I played the whole game with it. Hopefully it pulls up well, we'll assess later in the week.
"I'll get a scan later today just to make sure but (it feels) pretty tight."
Sloane revealed the area was "a bit tender" pre-game but was aggravated upon his first kick against the Magpies, before soldiering on manfully until he was subbed out.
"I was confident I could play out the game or a reasonable amount of the game," he said. "Once the game was done and dusted it was good to get Soley (Jake Soligo) on."
Sloane indicated the Crows may get Rory Laird back for the Showdown after the gun onballer suffered a broken right hand in the AAMI Community Series in early March, while midfielders Jackson Hately and Sam Berry were in contention after impressing in their SANFL trial game on Saturday.
Riley Thilthorpe, who was pick two in the 2020 AFL Draft, was omitted for Adelaide's round two loss to the Pies and played in Saturday's trial game which the Crows won by 63 points.
The Crows opted to use Elliott Himmelberg, Darcy Fogarty and Lachlan Gollant as their key forwards against the Pies, yielding only one goal between them, meaning 202cm Thilthorpe may come back into calculations.
"From all reports he (Thilthorpe) went back and performed," Sloane said. "That's all we're asking of our guys, is to create contest and perform up forward.
"What we love about Riley is his ability to perform in the air but his work at ground level is outstanding. It's almost like another little small forward running around.
"It'll depend on the mix and that's also the balance you've got to get. Riley is a player who can play anywhere, forward, mid, wing, ruck, we've got some options."
Taylor Walker will also be available in round four, when the Crows face Essendon, after his six-game suspension for a racist comment last year.
