BRISBANE could be without injured livewire Charlie Cameron for eight weeks or more, while hardnut Mitch Robinson will miss several weeks with a broken toe.
Cameron had scans on Monday afternoon after injuring his foot in Sunday's loss to North Melbourne, and the initial diagnosis is not good.
Although official results will not be back until Tuesday morning, the club is concerned Cameron could have a Lisfranc injury.
The standard recovery from that is six to eight weeks, possibly more.
LIONS' GLASS HALF-FULL No doom and gloom despite big loss
News for injured second-year midfielders Hugh McCluggage (calf) and Jarrod Berry (hamstring) is better though.
Both are a good chance to be available to play Essendon at the Gabba on Sunday and will be tested later in the week.
Allen Christensen will go through the usual concussion testing after he was knocked out by North midfielder Jy Simpkin.
Simpkin was handed a two-game ban by AFL Match Review Officer Michael Christian for the incident.
Coach Chris Fagan told Fox Footy on Monday night he couldn't remember ever coaching a game where his side was down to one player on the bench at half-time, as it was against North Melbourne.
"The wash-up of it is Christensen had a concussion, so hopefully he'll be okay for the weekend," Fagan said.
"Charlie Cameron has some sort of Lisfranc injury, so that's a pretty serious type of injury. He'll find out more tomorrow, but he could be out for four weeks or he could be out for the season if he requires surgery.
"Hugh McCluggage was just kept off the ground more for preventative reasons, so hopefully he'll come up for next week, just didn't want to take any risks with a young player.
"Mitch Robinson's got a broken toe, we found out today, so he'll miss a couple of games. He came off during the game, they obviously put a painkiller in there, but he didn't pull up well today."
Losing Cameron for an extended period of time would be a devastating blow for Brisbane, with the recruit having a brilliant start to the season with his new club.
He has kicked 17 goals in 11 matches before going down on Sunday.
