GEELONG forward Daniel Menzel heads a list of six players overlooked in this year's free agency period.
Menzel did not receive an offer from a rival team by Sunday's 5pm deadline, while fellow free agents Nick Suban (Fremantle), Ben Howlett (Essendon), Simon White (Carlton), Ben Sinclair (Collingwood) and Claye Beams (Brisbane Lions) were all left in limbo too.
Menzel, 26, has a one-year offer on the table from Geelong, but had been exploring the market for a longer offer.

"There is no issue with Geelong. Daniel is having a look if there is a longer-term contract out there for him and it can't be any simpler than that," Menzel's manager, Adam Ramanauskas, told radio station RSN927 on Thursday.
"There are other clubs out there, it's just whether they pull the trigger."
Menzel's career-best haul of 40 goals this season put him third at Geelong behind Tom Hawkins (51) and Patrick Dangerfield (45), although his average of 2.1 goals a game was bettered only by Hawkins (2.3 goals).
Menzel was controversially overlooked for the Cats' qualifying final against Richmond amid concerns about his lack of defensive pressure, but returned for Geelong's remaining two finals.
The 26-year-old has resurrected his career since returning in late 2015 from four knee reconstructions that sidelined him for almost four seasons. Over the past two seasons, Menzel has played 37 games and kicked 73 goals.
Suban has played 156 games with Fremantle since debuting in round one, 2009.
The 27-year-old Victorian had a tough 2017 season. Dropped after playing in this year's opening two rounds, Suban had to bide his time in the WAFL before returning to play Fremantle's final 10 games.
Suban's chances of being re-signed by Fremantle appear slim. He has attracted interest from rival clubs, with his best chance of continuing his AFL career likely to come when the delisted free agency period opens on November 1.
Howlett, 28, is in a similar position, especially after the Bombers' aggressive trade period that has netted Devon Smith and is expected to claim Jake Stringer and Adam Saad.
A regular senior player for Essendon from 2011-15, Howlett managed just seven senior games in 2017 after returning from a one-year WADA ban.

Beams, the younger brother of Lions captain Dayne, is held in high regard at the Gabba and could be offered a new contract.
But the 26-year-old faces a nervous wait, with his future unlikely to be decided until close to the list lodgment deadline of October 31.
Recurring injuries have limited Beams to 54 games in his eight seasons with the Lions. He played nine games in 2017, including the final three home and away rounds.
White has played 87 games for the Blues but, at 29, the defender's future at Ikon Park appears on borrowed time as the club continues its list overhaul. White played 11 games in 2017, his last in round 19 against Geelong.
Sinclair has played 63 games for Collingwood and remains highly rated at the Holden Centre, but injuries have disrupted his career.
Hamstring injuries sidelined the 26-year-old for the entire 2017 season, while he battled concussion after-effects in 2016.
