RUCKMAN Brodie Grundy has shown his toughness, finishing first in an arduous 22km bike ride, capping a taxing day at Collingwood's training camp at Falls Creek.

The ride along largely a gravel track, which included an 11km stretch directly up hill, left players gasping for air as they cycled along the route dubbed 'the Grind' by locals.

Grundy was followed by Taylor Adams and Jamie Elliott, with Myrtleford boy Jack Crisp in fourth.

There were 19 players who completed the ride in the Magpies' third day on the mountain.

Earlier in the day, the players completed a gruelling 90 minute gym circuit session which involved battle ropes, kettlebells and free weights.

Crisp, who finished third in the best and fairest count in his first year at the Magpies in 2015, has come back in fine nick and has impressed over the first three days.

Second-year defender Brayden Maynard has also attacked the training strongly.

Emerging leaders Adams and Elliott look even stronger again and have set themselves up for a big 2016.
