NORTH Melbourne midfielder Trent Dumont will make his debut against Geelong on Sunday after the Kangaroos made two late changes to their team on Saturday morning.
The Kangaroos withdrew Luke McDonald (leg soreness) and Jamie Macmillan (Achilles tendon), with emergency Ben Jacobs the other player to come into the team.
Dumont has been rewarded for his strong VFL form, with coach Brad Scott this week forecasting the 19-year-old could be given his chance in a midfield that is without injured pair Daniel Wells and Nick Dal Santo.
"We’re coming into the stage of the year where tough inside midfielders are required, and he’s a good chance to come in and complement our midfield," Scott told the club's website.
"He’s a natural footballer, he’s a tough inside midfielder who can win his own ball and he’s a fierce tackler.
"He knows how to read the play and he’s worked really hard in the pre-season to get an opportunity."
Dumont, who was recruited with pick No.30 in the 2013 NAB AFL Draft, finished with 25 possessions and 11 tackles in North Ballarat's VFL clash last weekend.
Jacobs, meanwhile, was the Kangaroos' equal-leading possession winners in their loss to Port Adelaide in round three, finishing with 30 disposals after starting as the substitute and replacing injured teammate Jack Ziebell in the first quarter.
Macmillan has missed the Kangaroos' past two matches with his Achilles tendon injury. Joel Tippett is now an emergency for Sunday's match.
Geelong has also made a late change to its squad, replacing emergency Mathew Stokes (omitted) with midfielder Dean Gore, who is yet to debut after joining the Cats in last year's NAB AFL Draft.
