PORT Adelaide defender Nathan Krakouer has retired from the AFL.
The 29-year-old played a total of 82 games – 69 with the Power across two stints along with 13 games for Gold Coast.
Krakouer was unable to break into the Power's team this year and spent this season in the SANFL.
His career had been chequrered by a series of off-field incidents, including damaging a taxi on September 16 this year.
"Nathan has played some outstanding football for the club over his time here," Port Adelaide list manager Jason Cripps said.
"Despite limited opportunity at AFL level this season, Nathan played a significant role as an experienced player helping the Magpies win through to the SANFL Grand Final."
Krakouer was originally selected by Port Adelaide with pick 39 in the 2006 NAB AFL Draft.
He played 40 AFL games across four seasons before leaving to join the inaugural Suns' squad in 2011.
He only played one season at Gold Coast before he was released from his contract due to personal reasons.
After a break from elite football, Krakouer returned to Alberton to play with the Port Adelaide Magpies in 2014.
His form earned him selection by the Power at pick 16 in the 2015 Rookie Draft.
