The pre-season premiership favourites have faltered early in 2013, losing their opening three games at home.
At 1-3, the pressure is increasing for the Eagles who are now preparing to face the form team of the competition, who is one of only three that remains undefeated.
Teague said his players' backs would be pressed firmly to the wall on Saturday night but that such a scenario was the best thing for them.
"If you go on form at the moment, the game [Port played] against Adelaide – Adelaide are a quality side you'd say – so I'd say they're playing as good as anyone," Teague said.
"It's going to be a great challenge, but it's a challenge our players are looking forward to.
"Coming over here as the underdogs is probably just what we need."
The Eagles backline coach said he hadn't been surprised by the Power's resurgence from bottom-four easy beat to undefeated finals contender in the space of a pre-season.
He said he had seen the foundations of a quality side in the lead up to the 2012 season, when the two sides played a trial game.
The Power may have ended the season in poor shape, but its opening month was encouraging; it beat St Kilda in round one and its losses until round six were hardly embarrassing.
"I thought they started the year really well last year, we played them in a practice game last year and then I think they won their first round," Teague said.
"As a young group it's sometimes a little bit harder, now they're a year older they've added some new faces to the group, [so] no it hasn't surprised me that they're playing good football."
Teague also praised the Power's forward line, which has averaged the third highest number of goals a game this season (18).
Jay Schulz (10 goals) and Justin Westhoff (13) have led the charge with great support from teenagers Chad Wingard (10) and Jake Neade (five).
Teague admitted the combination of agility, speed, height and muscle made the Power's forward line a dangerous prospect.
"They've added some new faces to their group and they've been playing really well … they've got a good mix," he said.
"[Chad] Wingard's up and going, [Jake] Neade adds a bit of speed and obviously they've got some dangerous marking forwards in [Justin] Westhoff and [Jay] Schulz.
"It's going to be a good challenge for us."
