RODNEY Eade believes he has the forward line to hurt high-flying West Coast at Metricon Stadium on Saturday night – he just needs his inexperienced midfield to give them a chance.
And the Gold Coast coach has implored his youngsters to be bold with the ball or risk being suffocated like most Eagles opponents this season.
In Charlie Dixon and Tom Lynch, the Suns have one of the more imposing one-two forward combinations in the league.
They will face a West Coast unit missing injured key defenders Eric Mackenzie, Jeremy McGovern and Mitch Brown.
Although Eade thinks his two tall forwards – standing 200cm and 199cm respectively - can create headaches for the Eagles, he has issues with an injury-depleted midfield.
The Suns are missing Gary Ablett (knee) and Michael Rischitelli (personal reasons) from the team that lost to Adelaide last week, joining a casualty ward that already includes Jaeger O'Meara, David Swallow and Dion Prestia.
"We're out there to win," Eade said on Friday morning.
"We think our strength is our forward line, but we've got to get it up there.
"We have to defend well, but by the same token we've got to be bold with our ball use.
"Against West Coast, if you're not, they hem you in. Sydney (Swans) are in the top four teams in the competition and they held them to two goals at half-time (last week).
"Having said that, we've got a talented forward line and we need to work hard to get the ball inside 50 to give them a chance."
Dixon and Lynch have kicked 56 goals between them this season, including 24 in the past four matches when they've played as a duo.
They are both ranked inside the top-15 in the competition for contested marks.
But with a midfield that will include the likes of Jesse Lonergan, Touk Miller, Aaron Hall and Josh Glenn, Eade knows the Suns have their work cut out.
In Matt Priddis, Scott Selwood, Luke Shuey and Andrew Gaff, the Eagles are loaded with experience and talent.
"It's going to be a very inexperienced side, but I think they've come through well from other periods with their effort, their willingness to learn, and we have to come with the mindset we're going to try and win," Eade said.
"We're going to have to defend well and work hard."
Trent McKenzie is a late withdrawal for the Suns after twinging his hamstring at training on Thursday night and has been replaced by Andrew Boston.
The Suns welcome back Jack Martin, Jarrod Harbrow, Adam Saad and Tom Nicholls to strengthen their team.
