DUAL Coleman medallist Josh Kennedy will again be sidelined this week with a calf injury, paving the way for a quirky twist of fate with his Sydney namesake.

If the West Coast forward returns for next week's clash against Fremantle, his 200th match will be in round 18, against Collingwood at Etihad Stadium.

Swans skipper Josh Kennedy will also hit that milestone the same week when the Swans host St Kilda at the SCG, assuming he continues to play over the next fortnight.

Kennedy injured his right calf in round 10 against Greater Western Sydney, but Eagles football manager Craig Vozzo told westcoasteagles.com.au the vice-captain had not suffered a setback.

"We have taken a conservative approach in terms of selection," Vozzo said.

"There are still some training marks that need to be hit, so we will hold Josh back for another week.

"He has not had any setbacks in his preparation. It's just that we have opted to mitigate against any risk with his return. We expect he will hit those remaining training targets next week, so he should resume in the … derby against Fremantle."
