EMERGING Carlton superstar Charlie Curnow is expected to miss up to three weeks as he deals with bone bruising in his right knee.

The 22-year-old went in for scans on Sunday, which showed no structural damage in his knee.

The athletic forward was hurt late in the opening term of Saturday's loss to Port Adelaide when his leg gave way while chasing the football alongside Power defender Dan Houston.

Curnow didn't return to the field.

The winless Blues will fancy their chances of breaking through for victory soon, coming up against Sydney (Marvel Stadium), Gold Coast (Metricon Stadium) and the Western Bulldogs (Marvel Stadium).

Coach Brendon Bolton told reporters after the Curnow had jarred his knee in the incident, and the club had decided to take a cautious approach.

"He's got a jarred knee — twisted and jarred it," Bolton said.

"They were debating whether or not he'd come on again. We didn't want to take the risk with someone like that."
