PORT Adelaide spearhead Charlie Dixon will require surgery after confirmation he fractured his leg in Saturday night’s heartbreaking loss to West Coast.
The 27-year-old suffered the season-ending injury after landing awkwardly in a contest with Tom Barrass during the third quarter of the four-point loss to the Eagles at Adelaide Oval.
"Charlie has suffered a fractured right fibula which will require surgery," Port Adelaide’s head of medical services Tim O’Leary said.

"We are still working out a timeline for surgery but he won't play again this year."
In better news for the Power, backman Dan Houston, who was stretchered off after hurting his neck in a spoiling attempt, has been cleared of serious injury.
Houston was taken to hospital for X-rays.
"Dan has been cleared of any major neck damage and went home last night," O'Leary said.
Star ruckman Paddy Ryder also exited the game early, after he aggravated a hip flexor injury in the third term.
Both Houston and Ryder will be assessed during the week ahead of Port's crucial round 22 clash against Collingwood at the MCG on Saturday.
