OUT-OF-CONTRACT Kangaroos Shaun Atley and Luke McDonald are happy at North Melbourne and confident they'll re-sign beyond 2018.
Atley, 25, and McDonald, 23, are the two biggest names North is yet to re-sign this year.
Atley, who is a restricted free agent, said on Wednesday he loved North and expected his manager, Alex McDonald of Hemisphere Management Group, would be able to reach a new deal with the club.
"Obviously, I'm pretty happy at the Kangas, they've been good to me over the last eight years," Atley said.
"My manager is working through that at the minute with the club so I'm confident something will be done.
"Brad (Scott) has been here the whole time. Brad has been really good to me and my football development, so I love the place here."
McDonald, the son of 1980s North forward and longtime club official Donald, expected he would re-sign late in the season.
"It was always going to be something towards the back end of the year that we could focus on," McDonald said.
"My manager (Paul Connors) is actually away at the moment. I'm sure when he gets back we'll talk to the club and sort something out.
"I've gone for North my entire life, so I can't see anything changing there."
Atley, who North took at pick No.17 in the 2010 NAB AFL Draft, has played 168 games for the Roos, including all 14 this season.
The speedster has settled in North's forward line this season, having previously been stationed primarily in defence.
He said the introduction of free agency had contributed to more players delaying decisions on their futures.
"There are a lot more players coming out into free agency and I suppose delaying their contracts and just waiting until the end of the year, which I suppose they're entitled to," Atley said.
McDonald, who was taken at pick No.8 in 2013's national draft as a father-son recruit, has played 88 games for the Kangaroos, the last 38 of them consecutively.
Although earmarked to spend more time in the midfield in 2018, McDonald has continued to play mainly in defence this year, averaging 20 possessions and 3.8 inside-50s a game.
North's remaining free agents this year are veteran defender Scott Thompson and Sam Wright (both unrestricted).
Their other uncontracted players include Jarrad Waite, Jed Anderson, Ben Jacobs, Declan Mountford, Cameron Zurhaar and Daniel Nielson.
