Other incidents assessed
The match day report laid against North Melbourne's Michael Firrito for striking the Brisbane Lions' Simon Black during the second quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. It was the view of the panel that player Firrito had his eyes on the ball as he approached a marking attempt by player Black. Firrito was slightly pushed off balance by Brisbane Lions player Jack Redden, but continued with his attempt to spoil and made high and late contact with his upper arm to player Black. A 50m penalty was paid against player Firrito. It was the view of the panel that Firrito's action was not a striking action and no further action was taken.
