GEELONG captain Joel Selwood and Brisbane ruckman Stefan Martin both received maximum votes in the second week of the finals, seeing them join the lead in the race for the Gary Ayres Award for the best finals player in the eyes of the coaches.
Selwood, who finished the game with blood dripping from a cut above his eye, inspired his team to victory over West Coast with 26 disposals and a goal as it clinched a spot in the preliminary final.
Martin, meanwhile, also received 10 votes after notching up 23 possessions and 24 hitouts as the Lions fell just short of Greater Western Sydney in their semi-final at the Gabba.
Giants superstar Toby Greene gained eight votes for his 30-disposal, two-goal game, seeing him join Selwood, Martin, Eagles forward Jamie Cripps and GWS teammate Tim Taranto out in front.
Every round, the AFL coaches vote for the best players from their game. The coaches vote for five players, giving them a mark from 1-5. The maximum a player can score is 10 (with five votes from both coaches).
