GEELONG midfielder Cam Guthrie will miss Friday night's semi-final against Sydney after scans revealed he suffered a low-grade calf strain in the qualifying final loss to Richmond.
Guthrie left the ground early in the third quarter of the loss to Tigers and the Cats feared his season might be over.
However, the injury was not as bad as first feared and club has not ruled the midfielder out from playing in the preliminary final if Geelong beats the Swans.
The news is better for Jake Kolodjashnij, who has been cleared to face the Swans despite sitting out the final quarter of the qualifying final with a sore calf.
Kolodjashnij had an ice pack on his left calf after the game but he trained with the group on Monday after being cleared to play.
The Cats are likely to include Daniel Menzel for the must-win clash with Jackson Thurlow and Wylie Buzza in the mix.
Nakia Cockatoo has not played since re-injuring his hamstring in round 19 against Carlton and remains an outside chance to return against the Swans, however he is still considered unlikely.
