West Coast Eagles midfielder Tom Swift didn’t hesitate when he was approached by the Breast Cancer Network Australia (BCNA) to support their 2009 Pink Bun campaign.

Swift took time out his schedule to visit Bakers Delight in Subiaco to help sell delicious pink finger buns where 100 percent of the profits will go to the worthy cause.

The talented new recruit, whose own mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, wants to show he’s behind those still facing the challenging journey.

“That was obviously a pretty tough time but she pushed through it,” Swift says.

“It’s good to be able to help people out however I can because I know first-hand how devastating it is.”

Hockeyroo star, Kate Hollywood, also wanted to give her support to the 36 Australian women diagnosed with breast cancer every day.

The campaign is a wonderful way to pay tribute to the women and their families affected by breast cancer where monies raised will help BCNA distribute My Journey Kits to women newly diagnosed with breast cancer.

The Breast Cancer Network Australia supports these women by arming them with information including this free kit for newly diagnosed women, as well as providing a network for women to share their journey with others. For more information call 1300 78 55 62 or visit www.bcna.org.au.

Helping to promote this worthy cause is just one of the many ways the West Coast Eagles lends a hand to the Western Australian community.
