FLAG-WINNING forward Jarryd Blair headlines the Collingwood footballers without a new contract as the Magpies announced seven re-signings on Tuesday.
Four of the re-commitments were already known, including Josh Thomas (three more years), Darcy Moore (two), Lynden Dunn (one) and Jamie Elliott (one).
In-demand defender Tom Langdon, who contemplated a move to Sydney, had confirmed he was staying at Collingwood – and it will be on a fresh three-year deal.
Flynn Appleby re-signed for two extra seasons and will remain on the rookie list in 2019, while Tim Broomhead scored a new one-year deal, but will be delisted and re-drafted as a rookie.
Broomhead is on his way back from the broken left leg he suffered in a gruesome round two incident against Greater Western Sydney.
New contracts are yet to be finalised for Tyson Goldsack, Levi Greenwood and Brody Mihocek, but they are all in negotiations to continue at the Holden Centre.
Goldsack confirmed on Channel Seven on Monday night that he was set to sign a one-year deal.
"It was never really in doubt," Goldsack said.
"I just had to tie down a few things and they've obviously got a lot on their plate at the moment, so I just said, 'Worry about that and mine will get done in due course'.
"(One year) is all I'm after at the moment and I wasn't pushing for any more. I'm 31 so one (year) by one is easy for me."
Travis Varcoe quietly agreed to another one-year deal during the season, while it is understood Josh Daicos will earn a new contract.
But 2010 premiership player and 157-gamer Blair, Kayle Kirby, basketball convert Jack Madgen, Sam McLarty, Adam Oxley and Josh Smith are still without a contract.
The Magpies are yet to reveal any delistings, outside of Broomhead, while unrestricted free agent Alex Fasolo's decision to sign with Carlton is the only other list change to date.
Collingwood could still be a big player in this fortnight's NAB AFL Trade Period, having been linked to Brisbane midfielder and ex-Pie Dayne Beams and Gold Coast defender Steven May.
Pies list boss Ned Guy said retaining the majority of the squad that helped the club make this year's grand final was a priority.
"This is a squad that is still discovering how good it can be, a squad that is still to ripen," Guy said.
"For a majority of the players on our list; the prime years of their careers are out there in front of them.
"A lot of work over a number of years went into piecing the squad together, and if you combine the profile of the list, the improvement we witnessed this year and the improvement to come, then keeping largely with what we have and adding to it through select trading and drafting is prudent."
