RICHMOND defender Reece Conca needs foot surgery and will miss a further 10 weeks after scans showed there had been no improvement since he suffered the injury against Adelaide in round six.
Conca spent time in a moon boot after hurting his Lisfranc joint in the Tigers' first loss of the season and was originally expected to miss up to six weeks.
This setback means the 24-year-old should be available for the last few weeks of the season, assuming he has no issues with his recovery.
Former Collingwood star Dane Swan and ex-Geelong tall Mitch Clark are others to have been sidelined with Lisfranc injuries.
Conca is contracted until the end of 2018 and has lined up in 86 matches in an injury-marred career since being drafted with the sixth overall selection in 2010.
He was placed on the long-term injury list, along with defender Nathan Drummond, who ruptured the ACL in his left knee while playing in the VFL last month.
The 22-year-old previously required a reconstruction in his right knee after suffering the injury in his debut game in 2015.
Drummond was drafted at No.52 in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft and has played five games to date.
