Both teams can take confidence from their performances last weekend ahead of the clash at AAMI Stadium on Sunday.
Led by skipper Jonathan Brown, who kicked four match-winning goals in his comeback from a horrific facial injury, the Brisbane Lions lifted themselves off the bottom of the AFL ladder, recording their long-awaited first win of the season over North Melbourne.
Adelaide walked away from Etihad Stadium winless and a little stunned on Sunday, after Collingwood staged a remarkable 66-point turnaround in the final quarter to run out seven-goal victors.
The Crows will be disappointed by their capitulation, but can take heart in the fact it took a super-human effort from the reigning premiers to beat them.
The Lions haven't toppled Adelaide at AAMI Stadium since round eight, 2005, and need to reacquaint themselves with travelling having played their last three games within the confines of the Gabba.
QUESTION MARKS
Can the Crows reproduce their effort for three quarters against Collingwood in their clash with the Lions? Adelaide showed what it's capable of against the Pies last weekend, but needs to deliver it on a regular basis before it can be considered a finals contender.
Will the breakthrough win against the Kangaroos kick-start the Lions' season? The Lions have been more competitive this season than their position on the ladder (16th) suggests, and Brown's inclusion automatically makes them a four-goal better team.

Brown posted an impressive score of 93 points against North Melbourne. The inspirational skipper was one of the must-have forwards in the competition before succumbing to injury last season, and with his price of $361,000 likely to drop after this week he's certainly worth keeping an eye on.
If DT coaches aren't convinced by Adelaide star Scott Thompson yet, they should be. The tough midfielder earned best-on-ground honours in a losing team last week and recorded another solid score of 108 points. An injury-induced score of 61 in round seven has seen his price drop to $395,600 this week, so now is the perfect time to pounce.
