When the teams met in the NAB Cup at Blacktown on March 9, the Swans were comfortable 36-point winners.
While the reigning premiers ran close to a full strength team – aside from Nick Smith and Marty Mattner - the Suns were without captain Gary Ablett.
Solomon said the Suns had been able to implement some lessons they'd learnt from last month's clash.
"It was a real advantage to play them four or five weeks ago," Solomon said.
"We found a few areas in our game plan and we tinkered from there, and it was a good lesson. We think we're better prepared this time."
Solomon said the Suns would have to match the Swans' midfield intensity but needed to be mindful of not sending too many bodies to the contest.
Gold Coast have been buzzing since Saturday night's 13-point win over St Kilda – the first round one victory in its history – but were back to business at Wednesday's main training session.
There were no injuries out of the Saints clash and Danny Stanley (groin) and Kyal Horsley (corked thigh) will come back into the mix after missing last week.
"This footy club loves the way the Swans go about their footy and we see it as a great challenge to see where we're at," Solomon said.
"There's a bit of confidence but we're not getting carried away by any stretch of the imagination, it's one game, there's a long way to go.
"It's great to have a win straight up, but you ask any side or any coach and they open their eyes on Monday morning and they know it's back to work. It almost means nothing.
"A new challenge ahead, the reigning premiers in Sydney, it doesn't get any harder."
