The Western Bulldogs, as one of the 18 clubs of the Australian Football League (AFL) and situated in the fastest growing region of Australia, are offering an exciting opportunity to become the club’s new Sales Manager within the Commercial Partnerships Department.
The objective of the Sales Manager position is to lead and oversee the development and execution of the Club’s sales strategy. The Sales Manager will drive new business and be responsible for the overall performance of the Club’s corporate sales. The West of Melbourne is a key focus for the Western Bulldogs and a major part of this role will be to implement a sales strategy around developing partnerships with the SMEs in the area.
This position reports directly to the Chief Commercial Officer and is responsible for the Club’s corporate product (match day and non-match day events) sales, commercialising the Club’s digital assets, attracting community sponsors and liaising with key fundraising groups.
The Sales Manager leads a team of two Business Development Executives and is accountable for ensuring that the department achieve the required sales budget, develop strong professional relationships and deliver exceptional customer service.
Further responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Driving a whole of organisation sales strategy with associated budgets, key targets and related sales team KPIs;
- Leading the Club’s sales function, including the generation of a competitive and accountable sales culture;
- Growing the Club’s corporate network and reinforcing our corporate brand;
- Identifying brand development and leverage opportunities;
- Managing and developing a team that works across the whole club with a clear focus on the club’s ‘Winning The West’ strategy;
- Building a winning culture;
- Developing innovative Corporate offerings which provide a competitive advantage and differentiation from competitors;
- Contributing to the development of the department’s budget;
- Implementing accurate monthly budgetary forecasts; and
- Developing and implementing an online sales strategy to maximise the club’s website
