BRETT Deledio has again dismissed the "noise" surrounding his future at Richmond, saying he has not entertained approaches from other clubs.
Deledio is contracted at Richmond for next season, but former teammate Matthew Richardson told 3AW on Wednesday night the lack of a "categorical" statement from the club and Deledio's manager, Anthony McConville, about the star forward's future suggested he was "just not feeling the love from Richmond at the moment."
Deledio, 29, told RSN927 on Thursday that Richardson had just been "sticking up" for him, worried the speculation around the midfielder’s future had been taking a toll.
The two-time All Australian said he could understand why Richmond hadn't more strongly addressed speculation he could be traded, alluding to the mooted board challenge the club was facing.
"I can understand why the club hasn't (refuted the trade speculation) because I am contracted and there are bigger things that are going on at the club at the moment that probably take precedence," Deledio said.
Deledio admitted McConville had been contacted by other clubs inquiring about his availability, but had quickly rebuffed those approaches.
"He's certainly said (with) all this noise that's been created by the media people are ringing up and just seeing whether there's any truth in it but, of course, he's just knocking it all on the head," Deledio said.
Asked whether McConville had told those clubs he was not leaving Richmond, Deledio said: "Yeah, I'm pretty sure."
"It is all noise and that's all it is. There's not much more I can say, I've been pretty emphatic right throughout the year."
