After a week of voting, the club can now reveal the top-six Magpie midfielders who made the Collingwoodfc.com.au Fans’ Choice Team of the Decade.

Supporters had the chance to vote for their midfielders via the club’s website after the Defenders of the Decade were announced last week.

Receiving an overwhelming 92% of first-place votes, former captain Nathan Buckley was deemed the outright favourite for a position in the midfield.

In a close battle for second, Scott Burns received 16% of the total weighted vote, just ahead of two-time Copeland Trophy recipient Dane Swan. Swan was included in more top-six nominations than Burns but received a lower weighted total.

Magpie supporters haven’t forgotten the playing efforts of Paul Licuria, who polled 11% of the total weighted vote.

With supporters asked to include one ruckman in their selection, Josh Fraser came in with 10% of the total weighted vote.

In a tight battle for the final on-field position, vice-captain Scott Pendlebury finished just in front of Tarkyn Lockyer.

Lockyer is now in contention for a place on the interchange.  The four players who receive the highest vote-weighted total to miss out on a starting position will be named on the interchange.

Voting is currently open for fans to select their forwards of the decade.  Click here to vote now.
