GOLD Coast will have an almost unprecedented hold on the top end of this year's NAB AFL Draft if its wish for two top-10 picks for departing star Jaeger O'Meara eventuates.
Thanks to its future trading last year, the Suns hold six selections in the first 27 picks at this year's draft, starting with their prized No.4 pick.
But they could be in for more, with coach Rodney Eade last week stating two first-round picks was fair compensation for the Rising Star winner, who hasn't played at senior level in two years as he battles a knee injury.
The Suns will also broker a deal for departing midfielder Dion Prestia, who confirmed on the weekend he will seek a trade to a Victorian club. Richmond is believed to be leading the race for the 23-year-old.
Midfielder Jack Bowes, a member of Gold Coast's academy, is likely to attract a bid in the first three selections which the Suns will be expected to match.
Greater Western Sydney finished in the top four on the ladder after the home and away season but are still primed for a draft windfall with three first-round picks and two in the second round.
The first 10 draft selections of each round were locked in last weekend when the home and away season finished.
Collingwood, having traded its first 2017 pick to the Giants as part of last year's deal for Adam Treloar, will not enter the draft until pick No.25.
That is one spot ahead of Melbourne's first pick (No.26), although that selection is likely to come into discussions as the Demons chase Essendon defender Michael Hibberd.
Geelong's first pick – under current ladder standings – will not be until No.35.
