AFL Executive General Manager Customer and Commercial Kylie Rogers said the spectacular finish to the home and away season was the perfect lead in to the 2022 Toyota AFL Finals Series.

“The AFL home and away season has been compelling and one of the best in recent history, the games have rated brilliantly, and our best games have delivered record results,” Ms Rogers said.

“Round 23 played out perfectly, with a thrilling finish and the final eight not being determined until the last match of the season.

“Yesterday’s Carlton vs Collingwood blockbuster in front of 88,287 fans at the MCG delivered not only one of the best games of the year, but also broke the record for highest ever home and away crowd between the two clubs and the highest attended AFL game since the 2019 Grand Final.

“Thank you to the 6.1 million fans that attended a game during the season, we have such an exciting five weeks ahead, the launch of the newly fixtured NAB AFLW Season Seven and the 2022 Toyota AFL Finals Series.”
