LAST year's Grand Final defeat will always sit with Adelaide ruckman Sam Jacobs, but it's not something he's dwelling on ahead of Friday night's encounter with Richmond at the MCG.
The Crows take on the Tigers at the home of football for the first time since their 48-point defeat last September.
"A lot of that got flushed out in round two when we played them at home (the Crows winning by 36 points)," Jacobs told reporters on Monday.
"That's more of an individual thing than team-wise, we're just looking at it as a good opportunity to keep rolling and get our season back on track.
"I think it's something that will probably never leave you, but at the moment, it's not something I'm giving any time to.
"You're putting your energy into the wrong things if you're worrying about what happened last September."
The Crows (7-7) are hopeful of getting forward Tom Lynch back from concussion, while veteran midfielder Sam Gibson (hamstring) is also likely to be available.
However, midfielder David Mackay is in doubt with a rib injury.
The Crows are coming off their best win of the season, booting six goals in the last quarter to storm home and defeat West Coast by 10 points at Adelaide Oval last Saturday.
Their high-powered attack – so prominent last year – clicked into gear after struggling to score during their four-game losing streak.
"It felt like when we played our best footy, you could see that real enjoyment was there," Jacobs said.
"The enjoyment's not manufactured, it comes when you're playing well and performing.
"Hopefully it's a turning point in terms of our offensive game, that's part of the reason what we've been lacking."
Jacobs was also influential in his crucial duel with the Eagles' one-two punch of Nic Naitanui and Scott Lycett.
The round 14 bye for the Crows came at the perfect time for Jacobs, who used the break to refresh mentally and physically.
"I'm getting older so you look for opportunities to rest the body, but at the same time, it's important to get the training in," Jacobs said.
"For me, it was the challenge of, we weren't the playing the way we wanted to, and me personally, I wasn't either.
"My form hasn't been where I want it to be, it's more about getting back to where I want to, and hopefully I can have a good finish to the year."
