The Sydney Swans assistant had been linked to the Suns' position since Guy McKenna was sacked two weeks ago and reportedly made it to the second round of Adelaide's recent search for a new coach before Phil Walsh was appointed.
However, Dew’s manager Justin Reid confirmed to NAB AFL Trade Radio on Tuesday that Dew was happy to remain in the Harbour City and will not apply for the Suns or Dogs positions.
Who would coach the Bulldogs?
Since ending his 206-game career for Hawthorn and Port Adelaide, Dew has filled a range of roles under John Longmire at the Swans.
He is widely regarded as a senior coach-in-waiting and came close to accepting a senior assistant position at Melbourne late last year that would have seen him take over when Paul Roos stepped down at the Demons.
That role has since been filled by ex-Essendon assistant Simon Goodwin.
Dew instead signed a three-year deal at the Swans, who have designed a clear coaching development pathway for the dual premiership star.
