Keep
Joel Selwood [MID, $470,800] hasn't exactly gone ducking for cover, but a score of 69 points against Collingwood wasn't what fantasy coaches were after.

Selwood's price is set to tumble down to $458,100 after this round, but there's no need to do anything too hasty just yet.

The Geelong skipper has games coming up against Port Adelaide, Gold Coast and Greater Western Sydney which shape as the perfect antidote to get him back up and firing.

Trade
The appearance of the green vest is never a good sign, and for the fantasy coaches of Lion Sam Mayes [FWD, $285,300], it's the final straw.

Mayes' fantasy scores have dropped drastically in the past couple of weeks, compounded by a score of just 31 after starting as the sub against the Bombers.

One option is to trade a player such as Port Adelaide's Jasper Pittard [DEF, $213,200], who still continues to struggle with injury, for Geelong's Jackson Thurlow [DEF, $116,200].

Then you can upgrade Mayes to someone like Lance Franklin [FWD, $380,100], who is ridiculously underpriced.

Invest
Franklin's price is bordering on criminal.

The key forward's output in front of goal has been down, but it's hard to pass on a player of his quality when he is sitting at a price below $400,000.

He's too dangerous to be held in check for too long, and with games to come against Gold Coast and Melbourne in the next fortnight, you could see an offensive explosion.

New kid on the block
Notching the highest score of the round is no mean feat, but when you're in your second year in the League, then you're going pretty well.

Brandon Ellis [DEF, $382,700] scored 155 fantasy points on the weekend on the back of a career-high 39 possessions against Melbourne.

Ellis' price is expected to rise to $442,600 by the end of the round, making him a valuable cash cow candidate.

And, if he can continue this hot streak, you might not even have to cash him in after all.

That hurts
Nathan Buckley says there are "massive reservations and fears" over whether Dale Thomas [MID/FWD, $414,800] can make it back this season.

Even still, Thomas’ ankle surgery, which will rule him out for up to 16 weeks, means it's time to part ways with the Pies star.

Dayne Zorko [MID, $415,200] or Eagles ruckman Nic Naitanui [RUC/FWD, $417,700] are two likely replacements, while West Coast midfielder Matt Priddis [MID, $419,200] is another one who flies under the radar far too often.

The last word
As pointed out last week, it is essential to address your team's weaknesses and top up your depth in your chosen positions.

There are a number of high-quality players still at a reasonable price who are ready to leap into your team and contribute on a consistent basis.
