FOOTY fans will be able to watch next weekend's AFL Grand Final in full HD with Channel 7 to broadcast the game on 7mate.
The game will cap a huge day of football on both Channel 7 and 7mate, which kicks off at 9am (AEST).
Fans in Adelaide and Melbourne can tune into 7mate right from the start to watch the whole day's programming in HD.
HD coverage in Perth will begin on 7mate at 12pm local time and at 2pm local time in Sydney and Brisbane.
Seven's decision follows years of fan disappointment at the Grand Final only being broadcast on its standard definition channel.
What time does the 2015 AFL Grand Final start?
The Grand Final had previously been broadcast in HD on Channel Ten's ONE HD station.
Since Seven became the soul free-to-air broadcaster it has only provided standard definition coverage of matches in Victoria and South Australia.
It's expected most, if not all games, will be broadcast in HD by the time the next television rights deal begins in 2017.
The Federal Government is in the process of changing regulations to allow television networks to make their primary channel's high definition.
