HAWTHORN premiership player Michael Osborne has been appointed as a development coach at Carlton.
Osborne, who retired this year after 168 games for the Hawks, has received a strong endorsement from Blues coach Mick Malthouse, who believes his players will benefit from 31-year-old's range of experiences.
"Michael has played in a premiership side and he knows what it's like to win. He also knows the work ethic you need to adopt to win," Malthouse told carltonfc.com.au.
"He knows what it's like to be cut from a list and rejoin a list. He also knows what it's like to play with injury and recover from injury. So Michael will be a great resource for our players.
"When you couple Michael with Brad Green, who has also recently retired from football, and then you look at the experience within the rest of the coaching group, it's a really fantastic balance for our coaching panel."
Carlton has now finalised its coaching panel for next season.
The Blues recently secured former North Melbourne coach Dean Laidley as their midfield mentor after Gavin Brown joined the Kangaroos.
