THE TEAMS have been selected for the 2022 NAB League Boys Grand Final between Dandenong Stingrays and Sandringham Dragons at IKON Park on Friday September 16 at 5:10pm.

A host of top prospects in the upcoming NAB AFL Draft will feature in the premiership decider.

AFL Academy members Mitch Szybkowski and Henry Hustwaite, along with 2022 Morrish Medal winner Taj Campbell-Farrell return to bolster the Stingrays line-up. The Dragons will be led by the likes of NAB League Boys Team of the Year captain Will Ashcroft, Harry Sheezel, Cameron McKenzie and Charlie Clarke.

Dandenong will be looking to secure its second NAB League Boys premiership, after winning its maiden title in 2018. The Stingrays will also be shooting to go one step better than their girls team, who went down in a six-point thriller to the Western Jets in the 2022 NAB League Girls Grand Final earlier this year.

Sandringham has previously won three NAB League Boys premierships, the most recent of which came in 2016. The Dragons have enjoyed a stunning run over the past month after finishing eighth on the ladder at the conclusion of the home-and-away season.

Dandenong was victorious when the sides last met in Round 8. Taj Campbell-Farrell racked up 40 disposals to lead the Stingrays to a 14.10 (94) to 9.19 (73) win under lights at Shepley Oval.

Celebrating 30 years of the NAB League
This year the AFL is celebrating the 30-year history of the NAB League (formerly TAC Cup), the competition that has produced more AFL and AFLW players than any other in recent decades,

The boys competition was first played in 1992 as the Victorian State Football League (VSFL) Under 18s with six teams and was sponsored by the TAC up until 2018, before NAB took over naming rights.
