MELBOURNE producer and DJ Tyson O’Brien (AKA DJ Generik) has been confirmed as one of the feature musical acts at this year’s Foxtel Footy Festival.
O’Brien, a DJ on Foxtel’s Channel (V), has been making a name for himself after the late-2014 release of his single The Weekend and his DJ work here and abroad. He will on the festival’s music hub stage from 5-9pm on Grand Final eve (Friday, October 2).
The four-day festival, set up outside the MCG’s Gate 3, will run from late afternoon Wednesday, September 30, until Saturday, October 3, with free entry.
The festival will feature activities including concerts, movie screenings, food and wine offerings, a host of football-related events and appearances by AFL players.

The Yarra Park precinct will also be the new home of the Toyota AFL Grand Final ‘Live’ site, offering interactive activities for all fans including a social media hub run by AFL Media in partnership with Telstra. Three-time Geelong premiership player Steve Johnson is the ‘Live’ site ambassador and will on hand, along with other AFL players, in the lead-up to the Grand Final.
Yarra Park will be the finishing point of the Toyota AFL Grand Final parade, supported by the City of Melbourne.
The parade will be held on the Friday, a public holiday in Victoria. It will start near the Old Treasury Building on Spring Street, head south along Spring Street before taking a left turn on Wellington Parade and finishing in the shadows of the MCG, where players and coaches from the Grand Final teams will be introduced to fans.
