The high-profile appointment follows the retirement of Collection House Limited founder Mr John Pearce in September after seven years in the esteemed role.
Mr Devine is a long-time Gabba corporate suite holder and a leading member of the Club's 'Lethal Lions' group - an inner sanctum of senior business captains united by their support for their favourite AFL team.
Chairman Mr Tony Kelly was extremely pleased that Devine Limited's founder and Managing Director accepted the Lions Board's unanimous invitation.
"It says something about the strength and popularity of this football club that we can have someone of the commercial industry calibre as David Devine to replace financial supremo John Pearce as our Number One Ticketholder," Mr Kelly said.
"David was one of our inaugural 'Lethal Lions' members during the premiership heydays of 2002 and he's been financially supporting us since we were the Brisbane Bears, so he's been genuinely passionate about the Club for quite some time.
"There is certainly a real reinvigoration sweeping through the Lions as we head into Season 2009 so David's maroon-grown business acumen, keen logic and no-nonsense personality will certainly freshen up our corporate outlook."
In response, Mr Devine was honoured to have the opportunity to combine his strong business and sporting passions as the Lions' Number One Ticketholder.
"It's no secret to the Lions that I love my footy and have been backing the Club from those pioneering days in the stands down at Carrara as the Bears right up until today at the mighty Gabba, so I was extremely pleased to be approached," Mr Devine said.
"And for me personally, it couldn't have come at a better time as we all embark on this new campaign with Senior Coach Michael Voss and sole Club Captain Jonathan Brown at the helm of what I regard as an increasingly menacing playing list.
"Those two leaders are bringing their huge competitive hunger to the field so I'm looking forward to contributing whatever commercial advice and support that I can provide off the field to return to those triple premiership years when I first joined the 'Lethal Lions'. So for Season 2009 I say - bring it on."
Mr Devine's Lions appointment follows his recent accolade as Business Person of the Year at the 2008 Lord Mayor's Business Awards in honour of his outstanding contribution to Brisbane's growth.
