North Melbourne rookie Majak Daw will be put to sleep on Monday, but not the way Daniel Pratt would have liked it.

With the pair about to go toe-to-toe for their much anticipated second wrestling bout ‘Redemption’, severe jaw pain has thrown a serious cloud over the rematch.

The North Melbourne media team understands the pre-Christmas fight is likely to be called off as early as Tuesday.

Daw will visit the dentist on Monday to have his wisdom teeth removed under anesthetic but was reluctant to speak when approached by kangaroos.com.au.

“Look, I don’t have much to say at this stage. It’s been something that’s been bothering me for several weeks and I can’t control the timing of it,” Daw said.

When asked how long he has known about the pending procedure he claimed he “only found out on Friday.”

With just a few days until Christmas and a lengthy recovery expected, the wrestling match is destined to be postponed indefinitely.

It’s been confirmed by a club source that Daw will have all four wisdom teeth removed in what’s expected to only be a day procedure.

And it seems the Sudanese-born player is already looking to give his jaw a rest in anticipation.

“I have nothing more to add,” he said attempting to cut the impromptu interview short when asked about how Daniel Pratt might react to the news.

“I haven’t given Pratty a single thought. I am only focused on my health and what he does is insignificant as far as I’m concerned. He knows he is underdone and has no chance to beat me.”

Daw will be clear to return to football training after the Christmas break.

Daniel Pratt could not be contacted but is said to be ‘furious’ with the unexpected delay.
