The Power signalled a return to form with an impressive 48-point win over the Brisbane Lions at AAMI Stadium on Saturday.
The Dees also recorded a win – just their second of the season – after an emotional week in which club president and much-loved figure Jim Stynes revealed he was battling cancer.
On Wednesday, Rodan played down Port Adelaide's heavy favouritism going into the round 15 fixture.
"Melbourne played a really good game on the weekend against West Coast and got up. Jim Stynes – he's well respected around the AFL – and they're playing well for him, which is good to see," he said.
"We're not going to go in too confident. We've had a win and they've had a win, so if anything, we're pretty even at the moment."
The Power should be bolstered by the return of versatile veteran Chad Cornes.
Cornes hasn't played since undergoing knee surgery a month ago, but trained on Wednesday and looks set to play against the Dees.
Cornes could even line-up at centre half-back, the position he made his own in the club's premiership year of 2004, in the absence of suspended defender Troy Chaplin.
"If Chad comes back it will be a great inclusion," Rodan said.
"The boys love it when Chad's in the team. He brings a lot to the group and he'll be really keen to show his wares and that he's keen to be out there. He always leads from the front."
Injured star Shaun Burgoyne (knee) also made a rare appearance at training running laps alongside rehab partner Matt Thomas.
Defender Nathan Krakouer enjoyed a lighter session, but is expected to play.
The Port Adelaide players breathed a sigh of relief when long-serving coach Mark Williams was offered a two-year contract extension last week.
However, there's still speculation across the border as to whether Williams will put pen to paper on the revised deal.
Rodan denied the persistent doubts were a distraction.
"I'm pretty confident that they'll sort that out upstairs. It [the speculation] is just what happens. The club's got to sort it out and I'm sure they will."
