The Werribee Tigers' 12 point win over the Casey Scorpions has been overshadowed by an ugly fourth quarter all-in brawl.

A clash involving former Kangaroo Leigh Harding sparked the spiteful melee with most players from both clubs getting involved.

Harding collected a Scorpions' player while trying to get a hand on the ball during play. It was a fair bump and in the contest but several Casey players took exception and remonstrated with Harding close to the away team's bench at Avalon Oval.

Umpires and officials struggled to get control of the situation as the horde of players pushed and shoved their way toward the fence. One spectator was allegedly arrested by police for getting too close to the action.

Just when the fracas looked to be over, former Carlton and Brisbane spearhead Brendan Fevola decided to get involved and things flared up yet again. At one stage the former AFL full-forward was seen pushing a Casey runner out of the way after he attempted to diffuse the situation and bring Fevola to the bench.

Several players made their way back onto the field with torn jumpers and bloodied faces. Earlier in the match, Tigers veteran Dominic Gleeson was stretchered from the ground after being knocked out just minutes in.

The VFL tribunal will have a busy week ahead will video of the fight set to be heavily scrutinised.
