The 2022 Toyota AFL National Inclusion Carnival kicks off on Sunday, with State and Territory representative teams coming together at the Angaston Football Club in the Barossa Valley, South Australia for the event from November 6-10.
Teams from South Australia, Western Australia, Victoria Metro, Victoria Country, Northern Territory, Tasmania, Queensland and New South Wales/ACT will compete for the first time since 2019, with the past two carnivals cancelled because of the pandemic.
First played in 2014, the Toyota AFL National Inclusion Carnival is an annual representative tournament for men with an intellectual disability and showcases these footballers to the broader community. South Australia is hosting the carnival for the first time, with more than 200 players, coaches, umpires, volunteers and administrators involved this year.
Toyota continues as proud naming-rights partner, with support from the SANFL, Barossa Council and the AFL.
The eight teams (12-a-side) will play a lightning carnival format over the first two days - Sunday 6 and Monday 7 November. Then, based on results, the top four teams go into Division One and the bottom four teams go into Division Two for pool matches on Wednesday 9 November, before finals take place on Thursday 10 November.
